Room type categories are used to organize room types into groups, allowing guests to search for rooms based on category and for customized automatic emails.

Creating and Assigning Categories

  1. Go to Settings -> Accommodations -> Manage Categories.
  2. Click the pencil icon under “Label for categories”.
  3. Name the label for categories that will display when guests use the booking engine, like “Choose Location”, and then click “Save”.
  4. Click “Add New Category”, name it, and click “Save”.
    • Repeat this step to create multiple categories.
  5. Go to Settings -> Accommodations and click “Edit” adjacent to a room type.
  6. Under “Categories” check all that will apply to this room type.
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all room types.

Enabling Categories for Channel Bookings

Sirvoy can attempt to auto-assign a category to channel bookings based on room type, but this only works for room types with a single category.

  1. Go to Settings -> Channels.
  2. Click “Edit” next to a connected channel.
  3. Toggle on “Set category automatically.
  4. Click “Save”.

Note:

  • If you have not created a custom booking confirmation email template, Sirvoy will use the default confirmation email. 
  • Channels will send their own booking confirmations. However, all other Sirvoy templates (e.g., “1 day after the chosen event”) apply to all reservations, regardless of their provenance.
